Student Responsibility Students are expected to follow the rules and procedures of the classroom. Completion of classwork and respectful behavior will help students be successful in their studies. 1. Be prepared for class. Failure to bring required items prevents proper participation in class. Parent notification will occur if the problem persists. 2. Be on time for class. The rules outlined in the handbook will be followed. After 3 tardy slips, parents will be notified. After 5 times being tardy, a student will receive a referral. 3. Late homework will result in the student being placed in the new ZAP program. Students who regularly having missing assignments due to a failure to complete the practice will have difficulty progressing with the skills needed to pass quizzes and tests. Do your homework every time, on time, to avoid loss of skills. 4. Disruptive behavior prevents students from learning and will not be tolerated. As stated in the handbook, consequences of such behavior could include a verbal warning, parent contact, referral, and referral to the principal. If the student does not respond to initial requests to comply, more serious consequences could result to prevent the education process from being interrupted. 5. Please be prompt with makeup work from absences. It is the student's responsibility to confirm what was missed upon their return. Make up tests and quizzes should be arranged for before school, after school or during study hall times. Test make up should be completed within 2 days of return, unless the absence was for an extended period of time. 6. Passes out of the room are for emergencies only. Please use the time between classes to use the restroom and get a drink of water. When students are out of the classroom, they may miss information being given and lose valuable work time. Parents may check their student's planner, as a record of the student's passes out of class are recorded there.
